Bosnian Sculptor Transforms Tips Of Pencils Into Unique Pieces Of Art

Posted: 12 Aug 2015 12:18 PM PDT
The sculptures below come from Jasenko Đorđević, of TOLDart. He is an award-winning Bosnian sculptor who can turn a pencil into a priceless piece of art. To do this he used an X-Acto knife alongside a small chisel. These thought-provoking works of art speak for themselves.
It’s amazing how creative human beings are, and how so many of us have this natural drive to create art. It seems as if children today are discouraged from pursuing a pastime as ‘frivolous’ as art, instead told to go to school, study ‘serious’ subjects like math and science, and get a good job (whatever that means). That’s why it’s always great to share something like this.

acrylic and Vaseline study

Acrylic study using Vaseline. It's similar to negative painting, on which I screwed the pooch. Darker, background colors should have been covered as well as most of the already painted leaves, thus only allowing one color to cover the bottom. The flower petals also gave me a good pissing as I wanted to add a highlighted glaze which didn't work as it was still too thin. I used a hogs hair brush to brush the vaseline over the spots where I wanted it as well as a cheap pastry bag to pipe it in thin lines.
I can't really see this as applicable for anything other than abstract bullshit, but that's just my personal opinion on this trial and error experiment.
